From Evthreads: Hey guys. Wow, there is so much to say, I don’t know where to start. First of all, and most importantly, I am now officially Mrs. Amy Hartzler! Josh and I are married, and it is the most incredible thing to happen in my life so far (and I’ve seen some pretty incredible stuff). We just got back from our beautiful, remote honeymoon 2 days ago, and unfortunatley discovered that the fact that I was unable to defend myself for a week was taken advantage of quite a bit. Here’s the truth, when I said that John and Rocky both made it clear they were ready to move on, I meant it. They were very vocal about the fact that they didn’t really care about evanescence at all, and just stayed around for the money. I knowingly let this negative energy grow within my band for a very long time because I was afraid of the appearance of falling apart, when in reality, trying to hold on to these guys is what was holding us back. I treated both john and rocky with nothing but kindness and respect, and I got nothing but jealousy and resentment in return. They were miserable. They are no longer playing with us because I love this band too much to see it driven into the ground. One little false fact that’s been bugging me in the press about this- rocky didn’t quit. He never talked to me or our management at all…but he did tell most of the crew and the rest of the band that he planned to quit during the 2 weeks off after our shows in south africa (during which I was getting married and would have no time to replace him). Fortunatley, many of those people care about this project and came and warned me, so we were able to replace him in time to continue the tour as scheduled. I then told John it was time he did what he obviously wants to be doing- playing in his own band. Because no one should be playing in evanescence that doesn’t appreciate it- that doesn’t love it. And especially not someone that is doing it harm. Being a touring member of a band when what you really want is to be a creator can be frustrating- I guess that frustration got the best of john. So today was the first full rehearsal with Will and Troy and they are awesome. (For those of you who don’t know, they are the drummer and guitarist from Dark New Day). I haven’t seen Terry so happy playing guitar since before the stroke. They’ve been working their butts off for the past few days cramming the setlist into their brains and they sound great. Its amazing how good it feels to play now- no clouds over our heads, no conspiracy, no drama, just the love of music. Terry, tim and I are very happy, and seriously can’t wait to start touring again. Will and Troy are a little nervous, but they shouldn’t be, they both SHRED. Fellow DND fans, don’t worry, the bands not breaking up. Were just borrowing Will and Troy for awhile (they are working on their new album now). Need sleep! We love you guys, and we won’t let you down. See you soon! |

i believe her, but i still totally understand the guys view on the situation (well not so much Rocky - he’s acting quite immature). i wish all band and ex band members involved luck for their futures. xxx

I’m not saying Amy is wrong but you need to look at both sides of the story and the post from a Machina member on evthreads.

Clearly Amy is the most mature person out of all this.
I don’t understand how people fail to see this. The dumbass John was faired on the 4th of May. Amy got married on the 6th of May. Wouldn’t one would think that a person about to get married; would be very excited (and stressed a little) as the date gets closer?? If John managed to get fired two days before the happiest moment of her life; wouldn’t you reckon John must have done something really retarded to piss her off enough to be fired over the phone??
Think about it. It was only two days left (if including 4th of May) before the actual wedding was held. She has so much preparation to do, making sure everything will run smoothly and at the same time being all excited about it. If John didn’t do something really retarded and offencive, and that what he did wasn’t really extreme; logically one would think that even if Amy wanted to fire him, she would’ve wait till she returns from her honeymoon after the wedding before resuming matters on Evanescence.
Thus, it clearly points out, the fault here is John and Rocky.
Amy tried to give John and Rocky some face (a little respect) by posting the reason of their departure; saying that they were ready to move on.
But then we hear John and Rocky bitching about it.
One saying he was fired without negotiation and consideration of his family, while the other made it sound as though he was forced to quit. What fucken wankers. They even fail to leave a little dignity for themselves. Especially John, commenting how he is suddenly unemployed, making it sound as though he went broke over night. Honestly, the band has been on tour for a while now, John ought to have made a few big bucks by now. But he makes it sound as though Amy had robbed his family by firing him. And with Rocky, complaining about how management is trying to gag him from ‘revealing the truth’… like, what the fuck?? Making it sound as though the whole Watergate incident is occurring again.
Anyway, enough said, people with a mind would know who to believe. John can decide to work for the dole if he fears that he cant bring food onto the family’s table anymore, now that his outta Evanescence.

Don’t invest anything into what Jack from Machina says. He’s just another of many spinning this whole thing out of control, plus he’s biased (Machina hem isn’t that John’s band)? The mob answers it absolutely fucking is! I’ve read every post by the band members and others and Amy’s makes the most sense to me. I’m not being and Amy lover and everybody else is fucking lying. I’m just saying her post made the most sense when you piece it all together. Don’t invest so much of yourselves into the drama, just love the music, it hasn’t gone anywhere, well not yet anyway and hopefully not for a long time!

If you all read Jack’s post and believe you’ll be mentally exhausted. Talk about rambling on and on. Jack paragraphs are our friends, don’t be afraid of them. Did you all notice how hard Jack is trying to spoon feed us his load of SHIT!!! Yes I know Jack was a EV crew member, so what! The “idol” has a name dumb fuck! If you all don’t see his post for what it was and it was just another attempt to sway our opinions and change what we think of this whole situation, then your all just sheep. That’s just for the people who keep going back and forth with each post. I agree Amy’s post made the most sense considering the limited facts we have.

Jack was totally trying to spoon feed us his brand of crap! Feel sorry for John and Rocky finacially, please. Even if they were on a strict salary, they probably made more in a year then the majority of us make in 10 years! If there hearts weren’t in it and they were toxic to Amy’s band, yes people it is her band like it or not, then she had every right to do what she did. People are accusing Amy of playing the victim. Jack was playing John and Rocky off as the victims. Fuck you Jack keep your nose out of it!

Jack has spoken! We all should take Jack’s word as GOD because he’s not biased! FUCK THAT! I’ll believe the only person who hasn’t lowered themselves or I should say herself to cheap shots! Amy’s post was the only one with some level of maturity and professionalism. On the other hand she could just be extremely brilliant and knows how to spin it. We all have a little evil in us! However hers just seemed to be the most honest and straighforward. Look we don’t know these people, they only give us what we see on stage and interviews, to believe their sanits is ridiculous! I’m sorry that John and Rocky didn’t have love for the band anymore. That is sad to see a show with the band just going through the motions. We still love you more than ever Amy! Congrats on the wedding. Just wish you guys would make it up to the Pacific Northwest on the tour. Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, SOMETHING! For now just know that your fans are behind you 1000%. You are what makes that band Amy and everyone knows it.

I find it extreamly disturbing that these guys chose this particular timimg to pull this shit!! This was suppose to be the happiest time in Amy’s life. Her wedding. Seems premeditated and pretty fucking crule if you ask me. Hopefully none of this drama and bullshit got in the way, or in any way took away from Amy’s well deserved special day.

Honestly i think that if you take into consideration that people will start something out of nothing to get known thats exactly what newspapers and reporters did all that did was confuse every one. im a relli big fan of evanescence. Well 2dai i had mofo exams & my friend at skewl told me jon n rocky were leavin the band. so i cudnt even concentrate on my exam probably failed that shit , who needs history n e way? so i rushed home 2 c if it was true. n it was n i cudnt believe it i started crying thinking that evanescence wud neva make n e musik again. Then i read that amy lee had fired john and rocky had quit well that jus pissed me off i was lyk wttff why did she do that!!!!. then i read amy lees side of the story i mean sure john n rocky were relli good but it upsets me 2 no that they had no real passion n love 4 evanescence. I’m writing to BEG you guys to come up the to the pacific northwest for one show, PLEASE!!!! We love you guys so much up here and I really don’t want to have to drive 6 hours to Vancouver BC again!! haha. I know you don’t have any control over where you tour, but please think about it. There are 5 states up that are getting the shaft cuz you guys aren’t coming!! We love you!!

Amy- We all know that you are extreamly private and we all appreciate and respect that. Your private life is yours and understandably so. I was able to see the leaked photo of you in your dress with the black background and you looked fantastic. I know that after it was leaked it was quickly pulled. If you would just post one photo of the wedding on the site, we would all be so happy and if it were just one picture, we would be satisfied. Just one. We just want to see how stunning you lookeed (as always) but especially on your special day.We all love you and respect your decision if you decline.
