Amy Lee, lead singer of the Grammy winning band Evanescence, met with two local teens living with epilepsy before a performance at the Glens Falls Civic Center in April.

More than a year ago, Lee signed on with the Epilepsy Foundation to be the national spokesperson for the “Out of the Shadows” campaign, which is committed to helping raise epilepsy awareness and to raise money for education.

During the visit, Lee spoke about her 13-year old brother’s epilepsy and about her band. She then autographed pictures for everyone and posed for photos.

“It’s not every day that having epilepsy qualifies you for a meet-and-greet with Amy Lee,” said Jeannine Garab, Epilepsy Foundation executive director.
