Those who are actually ‘taking a side’ in a situation where they don’t know everything of both sides are, to simply put it, pathetic. The best of songs are written from the heart; EMOTIONS. Just so happened that this was one of her emotions at the time. She did not point a finger at who it was in her lyrics, or come out on her tours and say ‘this is about Shaun’. Yes, Shaun has a right to be hurt, knowing the song is about him, and angry with her for releasing the song. But, what does he have to complain about? How she left him because HE needed to clean up his act?

I think Shaun has every right to do drugs and be mad. As long as hes not stealing peoples shit and mugging people on the street its all good. How would you all feel if your ex sung a song about you that represented your problems? I also agree Amy had the right to sing about Shaun’s “addiction” but Shaun shouldnt be looked down on for being mad.

I think Shaun made the right choice. I liked Evanescence and Seether right about at the same time. and pretty much equally. personally, i’ve had a horrible relationsip with one of my exes. her name is Stephanie. she was a cutter, then bulimic, cheated on me several times with more than several people and had an alcohol problem. things were never right with her, but i loved her deeply. so, staying with her was hard but i did it because i felt like we needed eachother. my ex isn’t publishing songs about me in any disfavor but you’re not alone in this, Shaun. i don’t really blame him or Amy for anything. NONE OF US CAN. because no one knows Shaun’s side of the story. i understand not talking about it because that just feeds the public instead of letting it die out. here me on this though. sometimes coming out and taking a stand…speaking up for yourself in a non voilent way is far more powerful than any song spread in a hateful manner. there’s no shame in what was done. it’s over, it’s time to heal and let your pain out. heal and forgive. nothing lasts forever, even what seems to be engraved in stone eventually vanishes like a whisper through time

Actually, this song does make me cring, although I do love Evanescence I just find that this song is just such a bitch song. I get it, you write about how you feel, and frankly Amy has got the stage to do so, but I just don’t understand why a person would feel the need to go as far as to destroy a man? With all that Shaun has gone through in his past, and you would think Amy would know how he feels, considering that she has been there done that, she could have backed off. You see, the song makes me angry because of all the bitch things Amy has done, I love the music, but I find it harder to love the woman. It just makes me remember all the members she kicked out, and how ‘woe is me’ and blah blah blah, I think that Amy needs to take a lesson in the real world and that not everyone gives a shit about the world revolving only around her. (I know that many a fans are going to cry themselves to sleep over what I said, or maybe not?) but like someone said, it’s only a friggen song, in the end if Amy wants to be a bitch to make quick cash, then let her…she just better think of something new quick or she’ll find herself alone, and fast!

I know this is like an older issue, but really it’s just a song. And Amy writes about stuff that has happened, which I think is good. That’s what makes Evanescence such a great band! Amy doesn’t sing about stuff which happened to others, she writes about things that have happened to her. Her feelings, thoughts etc. Does it matter who the freaking song is about? It just shows her overcoming a bad relationship. And why not write about him?It was something in her live that she had to deal with, and in a song it just makes it so much better when the situation has actually happened to the person singing. It gives passion to the song, and makes it that much more inspiring. But then again I guess i am biased, as are most people in this forum thingy. I love Evanescence, and really don’t care for Seether or Shaun. Maybe if I did, I would think differently, but I doubt it. She has every right to write a song about something she went through. Also I bet that if this song was about a different person, lets say someone non famous, not many people would care to argue about it being wrong of her. Well I am done ranting, for now. xD Have a great existence!(Note:I would say day, but then I probably will never talk/argue with any one who reads this so I feel that existence works better.)

*yawn* Yeah Seether is pretty damn awesome. I’ve met them a couple of times. Can’t say or type a bad word about them. Never listened to this “Evanescence” stuff but I have enough bad habits as it is. Musicians airing out their dirty laundry has been frowned upon by other musicians since mosquitoes. Your “queen” needs to grow up. I think this Lee person’s name came up in some shit she said about one Scooter Ward as well. All the money her band [unfortunately] makes and all she can do is gossip about other people. Whether or not it’s truth isn’t the point. What the hell is that about? I’m bored just thinking about it. I guess high school never ends for some folks. Oh, and I really wish perfectly decent bands would stop douching up their perfectly decent songs and/or shows by adding her face/voice/BS into them. Let her write her own stuff. There are plenty of other bands and band members for her to yap about. *yawn*
