Evanescence, who are getting ready to launch a tour of the US and Mexico, have added several dates and tweaked their schedule a bit. The trek kicks off Oct. 23 in Coral Gables, FL, and criss-crosses the US into December. A Nov. 25 show originally scheduled in Colorado Springs, CO, has been moved to Denver and, since last check, stops have been added in Lincoln, NE; University Park, PA; Wilkes-Barre, PA; Manchester, NH; Amherst, MA; and Kingston, RI. The US itinerary is listed below.

In early November, the band will cross the border for shows in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. Meanwhile, Evanescence is up for Best International Rock Artist at the MTV Latin America Awards, which will take place Oct. 18 in Mexico City. Information about Mexican tour dates can be found at the group’s website.

The outing is scheduled to visit a mix of arenas, sheds and theaters, and will feature Australian modern-rock trio Sick Puppies and electronic rockers Julien-K in the opening slots.

Britney Spears’s much anticipated comeback performance was anything but. However critics are not only panning the 25-year old pop star’s lackluster dance moves and bad lip-syncing at the recent MTV Awards. Spears’ physical appearance has been talked about in the last few days as much as her bad performance. According to reports even Spears herself felt she was too fat once she caught sight of herself on the screen.

However, Amy Lee of the group Evanescence is perplexed by the use of the word “fat” to describe Britney Spears. Lee noted that “I don’t get that she’s fat… I think we have a skewed perception of what fat is – because that’s not it.”

After supporting Korn on the band’s Family Values tour earlier this year, Evanescence will embark their own headlining tour this fall.

Amy Lee and her band’s revised cast of musicians are looking forward to their own gig. “It will be nice to do something special for Evanescence fans,” Lee said. “This time around we will get to spend more time with the audience and play a longer and more diverse set.”

Australian rock trio Sick Puppies and Julien-K will join the band on the trek, which is set to kick off in Miami on Oct. 23, and commence in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Dec. 10.
