Evanescence’s Amy Lee Reflects on Grammys    ·    December 11th, 2006

Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee was among the announcers at last week’s Grammy nominations press conference in L.A., and while her band was shut out of nominations this year for the chart-topping album, ‘The Open Door,’ Lee was happy to support her fellow artists.

“What’s really cool about the Grammys is it’s about musicianship and talent,” she told AOL Music. “It’s great to see James Blunt nominated and wonderful to see Mary J. Blige nominated. She’s still so strong after all this time and I’m a big fan. And Justin Timberlake, too. What he’s doing is really innovative and cool.”

Given her past Grammy success as a two-time winner, what’s her favorite Grammy moment? The answer might surprise. “Maybe now is my favorite Grammy moment,” she says. “It’s cool now ’cause I don’t feel so much like I don’t belong here, or that I don’t know what to do or how to smile without looking sheepish. I feel like, ‘Alright, I can do this.’ There are people that are younger than me and haven’t done this before.”

Ok. Mtv now has the lithium video, but they are mad at windup right now for being windumb. Vote the crap out of lithium and hopefully their anger will melt away, as the Christmas spirit overwhelms them and they have to give in to you. ROCK IS NOT DEAD. (its just really really sick)

Hey everybody! I just wanted to say hi now that I’m home. The tour was awesome- thank you guys for all the gifts, letters, and rabid screaming encouragement. Its good to be home though. I know alot of you have been voting for the lithum video on mtv, and I love you for that (feels like we have minions). Keep it up, they have it now, but it will really help the more you all vote for it and ask for it- our label really messed up the release so the only country its not playing in is the US! (which is really sad considering WE LIVE HERE) We can use all the help we can get so keep bugging them! Strength in numbers! I love you guys. See you soon.
love,
amy

ps- i just wanted you to know that after careful deliberation, Terry and I decided we are definitely pirates. John, Rocky and Tim on the other hand are sure they are ninjas. We are now a band divided… (pirates rule)

Amy Lee Blasts ‘Plagiarist’ Moody    ·    December 2nd, 2006

Evanescence star Amy Lee has slammed her ex-boyfriend and former band mate Ben Moody for “ripping off” other musicians for their big-selling Fallen album. Lee accuses guitarist Moody of plagiarising existing songs for their debut LP and hopes fans will appreciate her new album for its originality.

Moody left the group in 2003 and was replaced by Terry Balsamo. She says, “I hope that people respect me because we have come back with this second album and it has so much more to offer.
“It does show that we are talented and not some one hit wonders.
“I think we just needed a guitar player who could make his own guitar riffs instead of ripping everyone else’s off.

Hey everyone….
My ceiling is leaking from the upstairs shower and my cat is hacking up a massive hairball. Its so good to be home. Tour was awesome (all you fans at the shows SERIOUSLY rocked) but anything is better than that smelly tour bus. John and Shelly had a beautiful baby boy, and though we hated to cancel the last show in manchester, John made it home in time for the birth. (sorry ol’ chaps! we’ll make it up to you) Taking a sip of eggnog and enjoying my familiar chaos, I just want to say thanks to everyone for RULING at the shows and making it so fun for us. I really felt like with every show you knew the new stuff better, and i could feel that we were getting better and better at playing the new songs, and were really having fun with it now. Next year is gonna be awesome. In a world domination kind of way. I love you guys. The Lithium video premiers this week- i know you’ve already seen it but just pretend to be excited Happy holidays!!!
love,
amy

Regarding Ecotone Track    ·    November 30th, 2006

Quoting DhammaSeeker from EvThreads.com:

I received email confirmation from Amy last night that the Ecotone track is bogus. There never was and never will be a song called Ecotone.

Sorry guys!
