Evanescence have a big week ahead, with the Oct. 3 release of ‘The Open Door’ and a tour kicking off two days later in Toronto. Frontwoman Amy Lee said Wednesday on a teleconference call that she can’t wait. “The past few months have just been promo, doing interviews, running around, and the fact that we’re on the brink of going on tour and make music the focus again is really exciting,” she says. While she admits she is a little anxious about returning to the stage after two years off, she feels the band will be ready. “We’re going into rehearsals in the country,” she says. Despite coming off the mega-platinum ‘Fallen,’ the band is starting smaller for its reintroduction to the stage, playing theaters and such. Lee says it’ll make it an easier readjustment period before “the big scary arena tour” next year. She’s looking forward to the more intimate shows as a chance to get close to fans, where the energy, she expects, will be “crazy.” |
