Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee is fed up of being portrayed as a “bitch”, insisting it is possible to succeed and still be a nice person. The raven-haired rock beauty admits she had to toughen up to survive in the cut-throat music industry, but her real problem is that she is too forgiving - not that she is a hardhearted tyrant. She says, “I’ve learned to be a bitch, that’s a better way of saying it. “But there’s sexism at work here. Like, I’m on top, how did that happen if I’m not a bitch. “How could I be a nice person and have ended up succeeding? People don’t say that about guys. “But I think my best quality and my worst quality are the same thing: too much forgiveness. I really let people walk all over me”. |

Hi, I agree with Amy, you have to be tough, and beable to put your foot down, and not take any crap from people in the industry. I think as a women, we have to take on more crap. You can’t be so for giving, when people will just walk all over you. Stand up for what you believe in!! Amy I will Always believe in you!!! I think as a person, you are just absolutly Astounding!!

Yeah, alright, whatever. You don’t have to put your foot down on people who have done nothing but be there for you.
I get the whole “defenseless woman in a big tough mean world” concept, but most female stars take it way too freaking far.
As a person, you shouldn’t stab your friends in the back. When you do, it makes you anything BUT “absolutely astounding.”

HUH? “Defensless woman”? And this comment isn’t sexist and degrading how? If your going to insult someone based on speculation, that is the lowest of lows. Regardless of who any one thinks is right or wrong in this case.

Well, as much as I love Amy’s work, there’s not much to say about her in the whole firing John thing.
Why she did it, I don’t know. But there have been way too many people pushed out of the band for no seemingly good reason for that not to be proof of a problem.
I don’t see why any of this couldn’t have been prevented by some sort of understanding compromise, but regardless, yes it’s true you have to be able to put your foot down in some areas, but definately not all. You can’t just run down old friends. It shows way too much rockstar-assholeness… if I can say that. Haha
I still love Evanescence, and Amy will always be a great idol, but I wouldn’t follow in her footsteps of getting rid of so many band members for no good reason. My band would never be able to grow in that case. It’s a relationship and a partnership.
