Amy Lee: ‘I Am A Total Control Freak’    ·    September 4th, 2006

Evanescence rocker Amy Lee turned herself into a control freak after growing sick of people making the wrong decisions for her. The ‘Fallen’ hitmaker became distrustful of those around her and feared bad advice would wreck the band’s career. Now she controls everything in her life and wants to focus on being happy. She says, “I started seeing a long time ago that decisions that weren’t being made by me, but around me, for me, weren’t always good decisions. I had to step up and take control or everything was going to blow up in my face.

“Now I do everything. The music writing I am a total control freak over, and the mixing and everything we do. I’ve grown up in a lot of ways. I feel like I listen to Fallen and I hear me saying ’save me from the dark’ now I feel like ’stop whining’. I don’t want to be stuck unhappy; I want to be happy. I want to solve the problem and now it’s about fixing the problem, not ‘Oh poor me’.”
