Evanescence star Amy Lee has slammed her ex-boyfriend and former band mate Ben Moody for “ripping off” other musicians for their big-selling Fallen album. Lee accuses guitarist Moody of plagiarising existing songs for their debut LP and hopes fans will appreciate her new album for its originality. Moody left the group in 2003 and was replaced by Terry Balsamo. She says, “I hope that people respect me because we have come back with this second album and it has so much more to offer. |

Ben Moody is not a plagiarist. If he was then the fans would have called him out on it a long time ago. Think about the millions of fans around the world who listen and scrutinize Evanescence’s music, and we’re supposed to believe that none of them until now realized Ben was a plagiarist? Shame on you Amy Lee! If you want to move on then don’t dwell on the past!

I would like to point out that not everything that is printed is actually true. I would doubt that Amy would say something such as this publically considering in interviews she hasn’t ever said anything remotely like this. I also would agree that if there was plagaristic writing it woudl have been noticed by now.

Since when is everything you read in print 100% true?
First of all, I am well aware that Amy is still bitter about Ben etc, and naturally when you’re angry with someone you say negative things about them.
However, accusing Ben of “stealing” other people’s music is nothing but lame, and I have no tolerance for that.
If it were true that his music was “ripped off” by other musicians, I am sure Amy Lee would have mentioned this far earlier. She wouldn’t even be playing his songs live anymore if they were not original.
I call this a piece of bullsh**.
